"Who wants to take the first watch?"
Two players, responding to the GM's question, raised their hands. Notes were scribbled onto a pad of paper. "Now, who wants the second watch?" Two more players volunteered, and additional notes were written. Little did anyone know, a tradition would be born.
That night, the characters taking the second watch both failed their rolls, making the party vulnerable to whatever lurked in the darkness. The same unfortunate failure happened the next night. And the next. It was the second watch itself that was cursed.
And so, the name of the adventuring party became: The Second Watch.
